SAVE THE DATE!- March 30th 2011
Day of Action Rally at State Capitol
Save the Date!
Speaking Agenda to include Legislators, consumers, community Leaders (More Details to Follow!)
Wednesday, March 30, 2011 – 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Arizona’s Disability Advocacy Network in conjunction with Protecting Arizona's Family Coalition (PAFCO)
Concerned about what our legislature is doing? If not, you better be!
Senate passed legislation to make further devastating cuts:
Ø Eliminate more than 250,000 individuals from AHCCCS (Medicaid) - That would surpass the population of Scottsdale!
Ø Department of Economic Security (DES)
Ø Education
Governor Brewer is also:
Ø Recommending CUTS to services that are vital to your quality-of-life such as employment, transportation, as well as freezing AHCCCS (Medicaid) services. A freeze means if you go OFF and need it later YOU Are Out of Luck!
This is how your legislators plan to solve budget problems!!! Doing so at your and/or someone you love expense!
The time has come for you to respond regarding your disapproval of their poor decisions!!!
What should you do? Invite friends, family, colleagues as well as yourself to participate in a day of action. Together we are better!!!
Also, I encourage you, as well as those you invite to Do The Following on March 30th:
- Request a meeting with your legislators (would be more than happy to assist and/or find someone to accompany you). To locate your State Legislators go to http://www.votesmart.org.
- Register at the kiosk so you can provide your feedback and/or testimony regarding a particular bill.
- I would also recommend that you start today contacting your State Representatives and the Governor's office to encourage then not to balance the state’s budget on the middleclass, working poor, children, students, as well as people with disabilities.
